DECEMBER!!!
There are many differences from Japan and America in how we celebrate Christmas. So, for example, instead of Christmas cake, we eat pie. Although, pumpkin pie is very common, many families have other pies they make like pecan pie, coconut cream pie, or for me, I make sweet potato pie. There's all kinds of pies out there that you can make.
Also, we eat turkey on Christmas day, unlike Japan, where you guys eat KFC--which is a very strange concept for us in America. To us, if you eat KFC on Christmas Eve/Day, its like eating McDonalds.
Also, in elementary school, around this time, we would make gingerbread houses out of graham crackers and candy. It was so fun to do this. Although, my gingerbread house was not as fancy as the one pictured below.
There are many other things I can write about but its probably too long for this one blog. But it is December, so you can bet I'll be writing heaps about the holiday season for all the December blogs to come.
Have a great weekend.
